Public Appointments Committe of parliament vindicates Current affairs Malawi investigators on nepotism behaviour by the ruling party in appointing people in public positions.
After running a social media analysis and assessment of how top public positions in govt have been shared across the major tribes in Malawi, it was revealed that Lhomwes have occupied almost all top postions in government.
Three quarters of all Ceos at parasatals,Heads of foreign missions,Senior managememt positions at Capital hill and OPC,Cabinet ministers,Public institutions,and many big govt contracts are awarded to people from Thyolo,Mulanje and Chiradzulu(Full list yo be compiled shortly).
Parliamentary appointment committee shares the same and has summoned officials from the office of the human resources office.
Malawi can not develop if this menace of nepotism is allowed to grow and become a culture and norm of doing things, it deprives competent and qualified individuals of their chances to contribute to national development.
