The Coronavirus Nightmare

By Russell Robert Chimbayo

Breaking news hinted that a strange pneumonia had hit China
We took it lightly thinking just like bird flue we will be spared
The speculation was that the melanin we posses is virus resistant
We underestimated its probability of reshaping our lives negatively
Now see, like wildfire the pandemic has hastily flew close to home.

Videographer/writer chimbayo says “LetsObserveSafeMeasures.”

Local businesses are now breathing with difficulties in order to survive
Church goers no longer gather in unison to massly sing Hallelujah!

The ban on huge gatherings has as well shut down the art industry
Schools cannot attempt to hold classes as the threat is imminent.

Look at us, we are anxious and stressed for we know not what the future holds.

Contemporary prophets too are struggling to prophesy about it,
Soothsayer are equally silent on what this calamity amidst us means.

Medical experts are still grappling to discover medication.

Sadly, our courts see no threat. They allowed Chinese foreigners to jet in despite the scare.

HIV/AIDS severly oppressed us, but COVID 19 has humbled us within a short period.
