THE BATTLE OF THE GIANTS IN LILONGWE SOUTH
On 21st May 2019.
Malawi Electoral Commission held Tripartite Elections countrywide.
Sadly,in Lilongwe South Constituency, the parliamentary election were postponed due to the sudden death of one of the candidates Hon.Agness Penimulungu.
On 16th January 2020,the Chief Elections officer Sam Alfandika has announced the resumption of the by -election in this constituency will be held on 30th January 2020.
He has further communicated that campaign period will end on 28th January and results will be announced on 31st January.
There are five candidates contesting,these are:
(1) Frank Namponya Mazizi(DPP)
(2) Peter Dimba(MCP)
(3) Julius Chombwe Grecian(MMD)
(4) Patson Kachingwe Mthyoka(Ind)
(5)Samson Phinifolo (Ind) There are no female candidates. The incumbent MP is Hon.P.K Mthyoka. Current Affairs Team is wishing all candidates,the best of luck and may the better candidate win.
