As the country awaits for the landmark court ruling in the disputed presidential case, the Malawi Congress Party President Lazarus Chakwera has called on Malawians to accept whatever ruling the constitutional court shall give.
Speaking on friday during the press conference held in Lilongwe, the capital city of Malawi.Which was also attended by the People’s Party president, Joyce Banda, Chakwera preached peace and reconciliation hence urging all malawians to accept the outcome of the case to be pronounced very soon.
The MCP leader said a lot has happened leading to some malawians having lost their property worth millions on the aftermath of the elections.
“We have seen our countrymen losing valuable property and businesses in the aftermath of our elections, but now is the time we rebuild our nation and make progress,
“This Mark’s 250 days since the eve of the elections on that pregnant night, over 5.1million of you decided that you would vote your next councillor, MP and president, but now we must come together as a nation and rebuild our country so let’s abide by the court ruling,” Chakwera said.
Ironically, Chakwera did not say or go into details of the issue of alleged corrupt practices in which some individuals are alleged to have attempted to bribe the Constitutional court judges hearing the presidential case under dispute.
The constitutional court is expected to make a ruling on the disputed presidential election results in which Chakwera and the United Transformation Movement (UTM) leader, Saulos Chilima challenged in court.
