There is an irony in those going overboard critising religious people for not solving COVID, while religiously believing in conventional advice about how to prevent COVID. Yet despite that scientific advice, COVID is still raging on.

I can tell you that You are not superior thinkers in discrediting religion.

You are as religious as those you discredit. A position of no faith is a position of Faith in nothing. I.e. you too are believing in something that is not working.

But, there is also an irony in those believing COVID is a fulfilment of some scripture in the bible and that only prayer can resolve it. You too are out of sorts..COVID is just the latest of the tons of diseases that have plagued mankind. It no ones prophecysnd it is not biblically special

Be safe,Be wise-wash hands with soap

COVID highlights the fragility of human nature. Neither us, nor our science or our religious beliefs are adequate. Our knowledge, our power, our money at some point fall short. There are limits to both our abilities and our beliefs and knowledge.

For a pragmatist like me, this is not the time to rubbish prophets, after all you don’t believe in them. Ignore them and Let those who seek solace in prayer and in them do so. It works for them it doesn’t have to work for you.

Equally this is not the time to rubbish scientific knowledge and make up your own facts beliefs and knowledge. After all its the same scientists who have told you what this disease is. You cant be the one preaching your beliefs as if they were facts. Neither you nor your friends prophet told us about this !

So I am many things but in my philosophical world, I am a crosss between a realist and rationalist. Perhaps pragmatist describes me better. So I rationalise both science and religion. My world is grey, it is never black or white.

If I sound confusing that is because the world is confusing. Find your place in it and life by that place.
