Hon Kenneth Ndovie,an independent member of Parliament for Karonga Nyungwe constituency,he was officially welcomed by Utm senior officials as a party member.
Ndovie was affiliated to the immediate ruling party(DPP).
The unveiling ceremony was attended by hundreds of his constituents and Utm supporters.
Ndovie was appointed as deputy minister of Industry and Trade in the last cabinet by former President,His Excellency Prof Arthur Peter Mutharika before the 23rd June,2020 fresh presidential election, in which the Democratic Progressive Party was defeated by Malawi Congress Party,a party under the Tonse Alliance(union of 9 political parties),in which Utm is among the electoral partners,and it was given the running mate position during the election.
Ndovie jubilantly confessed that; “My constituents including all Traditional Authorities are in agreement with my decision to work under UTM,as my vision marries the principles,ideologies and development agenda of the party.I take an oath to stand by what is just and truthful-utm fits the cap.”
The Utm officials said, they’re happy that the party is getting momentum and more people are joining them,they further urged others who have the desire to be part of them,not to tarry or delay,this is the time.The party has welcomed the mp,his Constituents and Constituency structures.
