MCP SG MKAKA IN TROUBLE!

As it is a glorious season for all opposition parties altogether for winning the presidential election case,in which they were pleading for the nullification of 2019 presidential election results.

Their wishes were granted by the five judges at constitutional court.

Malawi Congress Party(MCP) organized their celebratory event termed as “thank you rally” in Lilongwe at Nsundwe area on 8th February 2020,a township popularly known for it’s violent and unruly activities.

The Secretary General Hon Eisenhower Mkaka overwhelmed with excitement;he uttered untimely and unbecoming words which has attracted rebuttals from all corners including some of their supporters.

These were his words ” Henceforth,i will only recognize Dr Lazarus Mccathy Chakwera as the legitimate president of Malawi and his wife as the first lady in Malawi”.

These unassuming utterances attracted attention from the govt and through it’s spokesperson Minister Mark Botomani who sent a rejoinder on 10th February 2020,in which he responded with disgust and awe.

He wrote ” it is common knowledge that the court ruled the winners of 2014 presidential elections should be reinstated and run the govt of Malawi until we vote again for new office bearers within the 150 days given,we are suprised that a senior member of Mcp and also a parliamentarian whose duty is to protect and respect our constitution is on forefront breaking and disbanding the judgement they seeked at the concourt,where are we going? Why would one incite violence like this?”.

SG Mkaka went on to say ” Hon Sidik Mia is the first deputy president of MCP”.

This has well received mixed reactions as people failed to deduce what he meant.

Social commentators took the narrative to town.

Some suggested he meant to say “MCP is open for any alliance and the only available position on the table is that of running mate,this means Hon Mia won’t be the running mate of Chakwera in the upcoming fresh elections”.

Efforts to reach out to SG Mkaka proved futile.
