The capital city football outfit who were relegated from the country’s top flight league last season, Masters Security Football Club now known as Masters Borehole Drilling FC has engaged an extra gear in preparation for the 2020 soccer season.
The club has since invited national and international players to undergo vigorous fourteen day football trials starting from 30th January to 15th February in the capital city, Lilongwe.
In a letter dated 17th January 2020 signed by the club’s chairperson, Alfred Gangata, the team has invited four players from Ghana, and it has indicated that it is preparing for the 2020 Malawi’s top flight football season.
“Masters Borehole Drilling FC plays in Malawi’s elite football League and in preparation for the 2020 football season, wishes to strengthen its squad through acquisition of international and national players. In view of the above we invite the following players from the Republic Ghana to undergo two
week football trials in Lilongwe, Malawi,” Reads part of the letter.
The names of the players who have been invited for trials from the Republic of Ghana are: Abdullah Saidi, Bekoe Vincent, Okoto Benjamin Junior and Nyame Kwame who if successful shall be offered contracts in line with Football Association of Malawi (FAM) and Super League of Malawi (Sulom) regulations.
But it is yet to be established as to whether Masters Borehole Drilling FC formerly Masters Security FC will indeed play in the TNM Super League during the 2020 soccer season.
Following the relegation of Masters Security FC, Dwangwa United FC and Mlatho Mponela from the Super League, Ekwendeni Hammers, Mafco FC and Red Lions FC will form part of the country’s top flight football set-up in the season which kicks off in March.
