MTL Office
By Agrippa Ngwenya
Following the fire that gutted the Malawi Telecommunications Limited (MTL) main communication hub in Lilongwe some radio and Television stations that are on Malawi’s digital broadcasting Network are off air.
Current Affairs investigation team, has noted that of affected stations it is Zodiak station, Times and Maziko radio just to mention a few.
However those on paid Dstv and Gotv can access these channels intermittently, mainly in central region of the country.
“We have been largely inconvenienced, for some days now we can not listen to Zodiak and Times we trust these media houses for their timely news and good programs.” lamented Yamikani Khoma, an Area 22 resident.
However in separate interview with an official from MDBC disclosed that it will take quiet some time for them to put things back in order since millions of broadcasting equipment was destroyed in the fire.
“Currently we are accessing the damages to come up with an overall cost as to the extent of the same.” disclosed an official who opted for unanimity.
Malawi went digital in 2017 the development which forced some stations to lose their broadcasting licenses.

Hi! Do you know if they make any plugins to
safeguard against hackers? I’m kinda paranoid about losing everything I’ve worked
hard on. Any recommendations?
