A total of five cabinet ministers addressed a meeting to a very small crowd in Chitipa District on Friday afternoon.The ministers took turns speaking to a very handful party followers who mainly comprised of female dancers of whom some came from as far as Mzuzu city.Taking his turn to speak, the housing and urban development minister, Symon Vuwa Kaunda told the party faithfuls that they (ministers) only came to share money.
“We have come here to share money, government is here in Chitipa District today. So those of you who are here will take home some money,” Kaunda said
But addressing the gathering, the guest of honour, Jappie Mhango said the ministers came to the district to appreciate some of the challenges affecting people’s daily needs.He said, demonstrations are only causing a great harm to the country’s social and economic development growth.
“We can’t make any socioeconomic progress with these demonstrations which are also compromising with state security mainly here in the boarder district,” Mhango saidThe five minister are conducting a series of meetings with the business community in the region assuring them that government is putting the tax to good usage.
