Covid19 a blessing or a curse for Mutharika’s Administration?

As a certified political analyst by far and agreed by the public domain not by UNIVERSITY CORRIDORS!

I hereby giving my fair take on what the political future awaits us.

Understand my analysis with a sober reflection,i serve no interests of politicians or political parties but rather Malawi and Malawians.

The Chinese virus, the virus originated from has humbled the entire political system in the country.

The governing democratic progressive party tried many tactics to tarry the fresh elections to no avail.

Unfortunately and fortunately a blessing in disguis,it is for them- Yes a blessing in a political sense. We are talking politics here not HUMANITY.

His Excellency Prof Arthur Peter Mutharika has now possessed the most formidable and legitimate reason to delay the presidential election as much as he may wish,as long Covid19 is actively pursuing us 24/7.

The banning of large gathering has crippled the wings of opposition parties as far campaign rallies are concerned.

The constitution allows him to hold the restrictions for three months-then we may vote in December or 2021.

Opposition parties can’t and won’t manage to forcefully and effectively campaign via broadcasting stations or social media platforms and the door to door campaigns are not that much productive, fruitful and suitable-they’re time consuming and expensive.

Opposition parties are not that bucks up- arguably there are BROKE as a church rat.

This is what Mutharika wants and needs. The game is fairly being played to his advantage.

Malawi Electoral Commission will not commerce any voter registration activities any time soon-as they can’t hold any event with more than 100 people at once.

Therefore- Nothing to be done-Nadda!

The only solution that lies ahead is what the Supreme Court may suggest after the elapse of 150 days, ruled by the Constitutional Court.

The current mandate that Makes Mutharika and Chilima to be in their respective offices is that of 2014 Presidential Election.

In which it was extended further with 150 days by the 5 judges.

Will the Supreme Court continue to extend it or it shall give the power of attorney to Chief Justice,Army Commander and Speaker of Parliament?

Well, personally i don’t know the court outcome-THE CHIEF JUDGES KNOW BETTER!

Lastly-Opposition parties may wish to seek court order to ask Mec to stop any electoral process and activities henceforth until restrictions are removed.
