BANGWE POLICE RECOVER STOLEN ITEMS,SUSPECTS ARRESTED

Barely a week after Criminal Investigation Department officers from Bangwe police recovered property worth millions of kwachas and arrested some criminals, the station has also registered another success.

On February 13, 2020, the officers had another breakthrough when they arrested three people on suspicion that they were behind a series of robberies in the township.

During thoroughly investigations instituted by the station, some suspects were cornered and goods worthy millions of kwachas were recovered.

The three suspects have been identified as; Steven Alex Henry 30,Abdul Rashid 27 both from Nthupa village in the area of Traditional Authority Likoswe ,Chiradzulu and Grant Samuel 24, from Nsomba village in Traditional Authority Nsomba in Blantyre.

Some of the recovered items include;Mattresses,5 Television screens,two computer sets,laptops,Decoders, microphones,DVD players and assorted kitchen utensils.

The items have already been identified by the owners.

The trio will appear before court soon to answer charges of house breaking, burglary and breaking into a building and committing a felony therein.

Police is therefore urging members of the community to continue giving tips on suspected criminals who are terrorising their respective areas.
